ASSISTANT RESTAURANT MANAGER
32-40 HOURS

At Wine Bar Restaurant Het Alternatief we are looking for a real star with experience in the catering industry! We are looking for a full-time assistant restaurant manager. Job requirements

  • At least 21 years or older
  • You have at least two years of experience in the hospitality industry
  • Available at least 32 hours a week
  • Knowledge of wine is a plus
  • A BHV diploma, Social Hygiene or teacher diploma is an advantage

The tasks you perform are:

  • Managing colleagues on the floor
  • Making schedules for the employees in operation
  • Responsible for the appearance of the company, the business is always neat and tidy when guests come in
  • Taking care of mise en place, such as setting tables, preparing all necessities for the evening
  • Inventory management, signaling expected shortcomings, so that orders are placed on time
  • Taking orders, explaining menu parts, advising the guest on his drink and menu choice
  • Passing on orders to the kitchen, explaining specific wishes
  • Support in organizing receptions, parties or other festive activities
  • Checking, remitting and accounting for cash register activities
  • Accepting reservations, insight into the agenda for special questions or expected problems with table occupancy.

THE TASKS YOU PERFORM

  • Responsible for the image of the restaurant, such as flowers and candles.
  • Taking care of mise en place, such as setting/preparing tables and laying out cutlery.
  • Taking orders, explaining menu parts, advising the guest on his drink and menu choice.
  • Consulting the manager in case of exceptional wishes of guests.
  • Support in organizing receptions and parties.
  • Passing orders to kitchen or buffet.
  • If necessary, prepare simple orders yourself (pouring drinks, preparing small dishes/snacks, etc.).
  • Serving dishes, drinks.

  • Supervising the work of the auxiliary staff, giving directions and instructions.
  • Supervising compliance with the regulations in the field of safety, working conditions, HACCP and work and presentation methods.
  • Planning the daily activities and ordering food and other stock replenishments.
  • Try out and review new recipes.
  • Developing recipe instructions.
  • Receiving, checking and storing ordered foodstuffs and other items.
  • Monitoring shelf life and hygiene.
  • Cleaning the work environment, kitchen equipment and signaling special features/defects.
  • Solve minor faults independently.

DISHWASHER
